John co-teaches Hollywood Production Workshop and the Motion Picture Production course. He has served as the head of Communications/Film at Nyack College on both their Nyack, NY and Manhattan campuses and continues to teach in the school’s on-line program. He is also the Executive Director for the internationally acclaimed Damah Film Festival.

John is an award-winning filmmaker who has produced film, television and video programming in more than 30 countries around the world including Iraq, Mongolia, Cuba and China.  His documentary work on AIDS in Africa won both Telly and Omni Awards in 2003.  John owns Sideshow Media Group, a culture communications company whose clients have included the Universal Music Group, the US Figure Skating Association and George Clooney. John’s latest film, The Knight’s Tour, which he wrote and directed, was produced by Inspirational Films and recently completed post-production on the Universal Studios lot.

Having completed both his undergraduate and graduate work at The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, the school recently named their program’s top film script writing award after John. He has lectured and taught on art, film, spirituality and pop culture in seminars, festivals and events around the world.

John enjoys writing, music and storytelling.  He also enjoys the writings of David Foster Wallace, Dave Eggers and Chuck Klosterman, the films of Paul Thomas Anderson, Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino, the music of Bob Dylan, EPMD and Jedi Mind Tricks, and the words of Taylor Mali, Bradley Hathaway and Amiri Baraka.
