Sarah became the Residence Director in the fall of 2005. Her interest in film and media blends perfectly with her love of ministry among college students to help her fit very naturally into life at LAFSC. Stuff you’ll find Sarah doing during the semester includes (but is definitely not limited to) cookouts, weekly Bible/book studies, acting as a test audience for student film rough cuts, troubleshooting apartment, telephone, interpersonal and medical crises and trying to figure out why a loving God would allow L.A. traffic. Sarah studied Media Communications at Asbury College in central Kentucky. Strangely, although she never changed her major throughout four years of college, upon completion of her college career, Sarah promptly embarked on two years of mentored youth ministry at a church in southern Illinois. After those two years, she married Patrick and moved to Los Angeles, still spending time in ministry in the local church, first as associate pastor of Verdugo Community Free Methodist Church, and then as simply a ministry partner in that same body. Things Sarah likes quite a bit: classic films of the ‘30s and ‘40s, fruit smoothies from Jamba Juice, late night discussions of philosophy, theology and the meaning of life, hanging out with Patrick, reading lots of good books, long, rambling hikes and going to the movies. Things Sarah could do without: having to wake up early, lousy gas mileage, and trying to think of a witty reply when people say, “Duff? Are you related to Hilary?”
